Background and experience

Shaunak joined Odin as a senior portfolio manager for Odin Global in August 2026. He brings 20 years of experience in asset management from London, New York, and Toronto.

He came to Odin from Ownership Capital in London and Amsterdam, where he was a partner and Head of Investments. This is an asset management firm focused on long-term, concentrated global equity mandates, which managed $10 billion in a single strategy for institutional clients, pension funds, and family offices. There, he served as portfolio manager and led the investment team.

From 2014 to 2022, Shaunak was a senior portfolio manager and Head of Global Active Equities at L&G Asset Management in London, one of the largest asset managers in the world and the UK. He launched and managed the firm's flagship portfolios within global active equities, absolute return strategies, as well as fixed income and multi-strategy products. He led a team of portfolio managers and analysts across the firm's global research platform, while also managing global and regional portfolios and raising new capital. He also served on L&G's active strategies leadership team and on the responsible investment committee.

Earlier in his career, Shaunak worked as a hedge fund analyst at Asian Century Quest in New York, a billion-dollar long/short hedge fund (a so-called "tiger cub" fund). He began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in Toronto and New York, advising on cross-border M&A transactions (mergers and acquisitions) across various sectors.
