Odin is one of Sweden's oldest independent fund managers and has a long and proud history to look back on. But even more importantly, we want to have a long and proud history to look forward to.

1990 was the year Iraq invaded Kuwait, Mikhail Gorbachev was elected president of the Soviet Union—and our operations were established in Sweden and Norway. In the grand scheme of things, our establishment is, of course, a footnote in history. However, we put it in context with these historical events to clarify how long we have been around—and to remind ourselves of the constantly changing global situation we have navigated through for over 30 years. All the while, with the compass needle pointing in the same direction: toward the future and long-term returns.

Increased growth in funds as an effective savings method was the cornerstone of our establishment and remains equally important today. The goal was to provide customers with better returns than the markets in which the funds invested. We could achieve this by having a clear and distinct investment philosophy: an index-independent active management style, where we invest in companies with skilled management, profitable growth, and a strong competitive position. This has been the foundation of our investment philosophy. This investment philosophy has served our clients well for over 34 years, and Odin's funds have been managed according to the same model since their inception.

As long-term investors, we naturally devote time and resources to being responsible owners. Our commitment as owners aims to contribute to the long-term value creation of companies. This requires that companies operate in a way that is sustainable in the long term and that their management has the ability and willingness to prioritize long-term value creation.

The story of Odin is also the story of our clients. Satisfied customers are the very foundation of our existence. Every day, we go to work with a clear goal in sight: to help our clients achieve the best possible returns. Something we intend to continue doing.

We were established under the name Independent Fund Management. The choice of name was linked to the business idea behind the establishment - starting an independent management company for investments in the Nordic region. In 1992, we changed our name to Odin Forvaltning AS to emphasize our Nordic affiliation. Through our name and our logo, which features Odin's eye surrounding Sleipnir - Odin's eight-legged horse - we carry a Nordic cultural heritage that we are proud of. Therefore, we stand with our legs (all eight) firmly rooted in the Nordic region in everything we do.

Since 1995, SpareBank 1 has been the owner of Odin Forvaltning. Today, the company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SpareBank 1 Forvaltning. The headquarters are located in Oslo, but we also have offices in Bergen, Stavanger, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Helsinki. The Nordic region is our home market, and our funds are distributed in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

Our vision is: 'We create value for the future.' It captures our long-term ambitions. At the same time, it emphasizes that value creation is what we work on at all levels of the organization. Every day. We create value for our clients through good management and advice, for our employees through tasks that provide professional development—and for our owners through good results.

We have four values that support our vision. These represent the fundamental principles, beliefs, and norms that we stand for. These values are not only fundamental to our identity and culture; they are also essential for creating value for the future.
